WiP Episode 6!

Posted by WIP Podcast On July - 21 - 2009

Not sure why I keep putting exclamation marks at the end of the episode names…

Survival Guide to a few of the conventions coming up, Jeff’s first few weeks freelancing fulltime, plus an interview with Marc Scheff (dangermarc.com) about concept art, digital art making it’s way to fine artists and the Illustration Master Class 2009. It’s a good interview.

We mentioned the portraits Marc did using an iPhone app called Brushes:

We also play a few seconds off the Shipwrek’s new album: the Wrekoning. You can check him out and download his album at http://www.shipwrek.com

Designbyhumans.com is turning 2! To celebrate two amazing years, we are excited to announce our 2nd Annual DBH 10K Contest! That’s right – 10K – as in TEN THOUSAND DOLLARS to one winning artist! Last year’s winner, CollisionTheory, took home $10,000, but moreover, the exposure, in combination with his unique style, helped him win big at many other apparel design contests sites like Threadless, Uneetee, and many others. He’s become a standard household name in the apparel design industry. Who’s next? The exposure is massive, and it’s an opportunity to become a trend leader. Many apparel companies look to designbyhumans.com for new trends and apparel design styles, and we are fast becoming the source for artful tees for t-shirt and art enthusiasts all over the world. 2. I thought this was a really great episode. Quite informative and funny :D And I drew while listening to you, ha!

I enjoyed the podcast and it was great. I am not an artist by any shade of the imagination but I started listening to W.I.P. after Jeff and Caroline stopped making Gamer the Podcasting. My son is an artist dealing with pottery and ceramics so he has enjoyed some of the sites that I have heard about on your cast.

That said, I do find useful advice in your cast because my wife is an excellent cake decorator and one thing that I needed to remind her about when she started pricing her cakes is the oppotunity cost of time. Her time, like everyones, is valuable and she deserves an appropriate recompense.

Of course, Pete’s jokes started sounding like a script for the next David Lynch film. :-)

Keep up the good work as aways!
