My name is Jeff. My head is full of weird dark stuff. I’ve worked pretty hard to get it out of my head and into my artwork.
I grew up in Connecticut, raised by a very artistic and supportive family. I was exposed to fantasy, science fiction and comics at an early age, all of which helped to shape my vision. In high school I dabbled in writing, stage drama and film, but my heart was still in visual art and that’s what I decided to pursue.
I moved to New York City and went to the School of Visual Arts, where I would spend the next four years focusing on honing my skill. I graduated with a BFA, and currently reside in the Boston area. I managed to land a wonderful supportive wife somewhere along the way, who now acts as my manager and web-design slave.

I’m sarcastic, anti-social and awkward in every possible way. Which is why so many of my friends are also artists. I was going to write, “the best thing I got out of art school was a wife”. But that sounds bad too. Sorry I don’t have a better intro.
Besides that, I love sharing info with people. When I’m not telling terrible jokes or putting off paintings I like making tutorials and giving demos. My second passion besides art is teaching. I just really like connecting with other people with the same general dysfunction. The art community is a colorful place (pun intended) and I love meeting all the people that give its unique (oaky) flavor. It’s like a fine scotch whiskey.

I know this is a very cliche thing to say, but I loved drawing and painting since I was little and I always wanted to be an artist. I have quite vivid and interesting dreams, and while I don’t try to paint them directly I feel my art is greatly influenced by them. I’m also greatly influenced by children stories and movies. One of my goals is to illustrate and publish children’s book -on my own if I have to! I also enjoy meeting other artists and participating in art events.
I am formerly known as Anna Borowiecka, so If you have seen my art floating on the internet prior, it was probably under that name. One of the most common questions I receive from people when they hear my accent pertains my nationality, so if you are also curious, I am Polish. (There was one instance when I was in a book store with a friend of mine, and a woman asked my friend “what is she!?” We resisted the urge to reply to her that I was an alien

So I’m not formally an artist, per se, but I do know my way around a balance sheet. I’m the business side of the equation on the podcast. The others tell me I’m very professional.
I’m currently an MBA Candidate at Babson College. When I’m not studying, game designing, consulting, or volunteering, I’m doing art business with my husband Jeff and blogging about it. Check out my blog on the business aspects of the fantasy illustration industry at artofbusinessblog.com.
